VISION

This is the story of a theater. And this is also a vision of its telling.

It is the chronicle of the legendary "Theater of Flight" that has long ceased to exist. It tells of dancers who once were flyers. But they do not rise anymore. They no longer float above their beautiful, sparkling world. Somewhere, at some point, they have lost their wings. And their world eludes them. It weathers and darkens before their eyes. It runs down like an old clock that no one winds up. It runs dry like a river without a spring.

This is a story of beauty and decay, of freedom and hope, of truth and life. And of a sacrificial love that gives everything to bring the dancers back home - to be flyers again.

Perhaps the story does not quite fit our time. Oh no, it certainly doesn't. Because it tells of love that is stronger than death. In this day and age, everyone knows that death is just death. Sober and inevitable.

No no, the narrative does not fit our progressive time. It tells of a love that wants to belong - even though everyone knows that love is a bird that comes and sings. And stays or flies away. Or flies away and comes back. And the story is also about darkness and light, about black and white - while people in modern times love the shades of gray.

But what about you? Are you ready for such a story? Will it be a Lilliput arrow that bounces off Gulliver’s skin? Or is there a linden leaf that will make your skin vulnerable - as in the old saga of Siegfried?

One of my linden leaves is beauty. Beauty that has no limits. Some stage designs are really beautiful. But they do have limits. Above and below. Left and right. The audience looks into a box. My story will take place in a dome. Fantastic worlds will emerge on its surface - a scenery that will become part of the story. You’ll be embraced by it. The red light in the morning will shine on you. The sound of the wind will surround you. It will be a bit like cinema. But it is also a live show. It is dance theater and drama, circus and musical. You will see new, surprising images - touching, poetic, deep, haunting.

The story of the theater exists. Its production needs composers and choreographers, dancers and designers, people who believe in its beauty, depth and uniqueness. You can be part of it.

INSPIRATION

There are certain types of shows that captivate people - like Cirque du Soleil shows for example. Do they inspire me? Well, they move me inside because their fantastic worlds are the images in my head that have become reality. I think to myself: "Yeah, that's what I imagined." So they are examples that maybe show you a little bit of what I'm striving for. But they tell different stories and have different ways of touching the heart. My inspiration does not come from things on stages. True inspiration is a gift from above.
